Keep Smiling Be Positive

There are many reasons that we can find to keep smiling and be positive about our lives. Of course, everyone has their ups and downs. That is not what I’m talking about. Life should be enjoyable. If you are not enjoying your life, it is time to take a good look at your core.

Do you find that you are living your life for others? A mate, significant other, children, parents or friends? These relationships along with building and maintaining them are very important to a person’s overall happiness. Yet, if we are finding that we are drained, exhausted and literally can’t give anymore, then perhaps it’s time to take a step back and evaluate.

Personally, the ones I allow into my life are the ones I choose. Meaning, just because someone is family doesn’t mean you have to give them all you’ve got. We have to take care of ourselves and our mental and emotional health. If you don’t make the time for yourself and acquire a level of  personal happiness, then you will eventually find that you don’t have much to offer to others.

We are in a survival game. Whether we have health issues, emotional issues, family issues, or dealing with the pain of abuse, neglect and trauma. We can choose to keep smiling and be positive. I’m not saying it will be easy. I’m saying it will be worth it. Worth it now, and worth it in the future. We must take control of our own happiness!

After evaluating your life and committing to smiling and being positive, please write down your thoughts. Let me know what has helped you to carry on in spite of it all.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Survivor Sisters Unite!!!

Most of us have at one time or another experienced life-altering circumstances. We are here to encourage, promote healing, and give a sense of security and comfort. We want to move past being the victim. No one chooses to be neglected, abused, treated unfairly, or made to feel like they are not important. Those around us with their own issues may treat us like that…but we are survivors. We are the strong and the ones unwilling to let others dictate to us what we are.

We will be posting positive, encouraging, and up-building information, so that all of us can have a sense that we ARE survivors and not victims.
